Chistmas Eve Worship

Bring family and neighbors to Christmas worship downtown.  This service will begin at 7PM, but preludes of familiar Christmas music will begin at 6:30PM.  

This service will feature a Christmas message from Pastor Jim, delightful Christmas musical selections, and end with a candlelight hymn sing of Silent Night.


Liberty House and The Refuge are accepting:

  • Paper products - toilet paper and paper towels
  • Dishes, pots, pans and silverware
  • Bedding-Twin sheets, pillows, towels and blankets
  • New socks and undergarments for men, women and children

The Liberty House accepts donations of either food or prepared meals.  The sizes for the Liberty House are for men only and range from small to extra-large.

The Rainbow Connection takes new or gently used clothing of all sizes, new or gently used furniture or household items.

Collection bins are downstairs in the church for these and other missions projects.

UMW Annual Rummage Sale
Soup & Bake Sale, too!
Oct 4-5, 2019
The Annual UMW Rummage Sale will be held on Friday, Oct 4th and the Bag Sale will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019.  Help is needed throughout the week.  Donations and baked goods are requested by Sept 23.  The funds raised support missions.  Please call Donna Burkhart 814-866-2781 to help

Missions News

Collections for Our Neighbors Place starts in November and runs through March.  You can give from the list of items below.  Missions is also doing something special and you can give that way.  Our Neighbors Place will take gently used clothes for both men and women (shoes, boots, coats, etc.)  They accept donations of deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, Kleenex, combs, etc.  They are accepting donations from November to the end of March.

Free Store accepts donations of gently used clothing, bedding, shoes, coats and other such items.  (hats, gloves and mittens)

Safe Net accepts donations of new clothing from newborn to adult.  They need clothing for children of all ages - both boys and girls.  They also accept the hats, gloves and mittens made by our church members.

Thanks to all who help make the Spagetti Dinners for college students a success!.  We are grateful for all of our guests who share fellowship with us and look forward to our next dinner
.  Dinners are typically held on the last Thursday of the month but the next dinner is Thursday, Dec 4th.  Doors open at 5:30PM.

Brown Bag Collections for Henderson UMC Food Pantry
      The annual food drive for Henderson Food Pantry is in NOVEMBER.  Start saving non-perishable food items and  paper products as well.  Collections are starting now in Fellowship Hall for distribution the last Sunday before Thanksgiving (November 24th). 

Teddy Bear Sunday, Hatt & Mitten Trees
      Teddy Bear Sunday is the 1st Sunday in December (1st).  Please start collecting your bears now for the children.  Last year we collected 71 bears.   Let’s do better this year!  This may be the only present a child gets.  The bears are split between both the Mercy Center for Women and the Refuge.
